Privacy Policy
Just Finder! | Lightweight Find Tool
Effective Date: February 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy governs the data handling practices of the Just Finder! Chrome Extension ("the Extension"). We are committed to transparency and data minimization. Unlike many other browser tools, Just Finder! is built to operate entirely locally on your machine.
1. Local Processing & Data Minimization
The Extension operates on a 100% local execution model. All search queries, text highlighting, and interface interactions occur solely within your browser's active tab.
We strictly adhere to the following principles:
- No Search History Tracking: We do not log, store, or transmit your search queries (keywords) to any server.
- No Analytics Tracking: We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixels, or any other tracking software to monitor your usage behavior.
- No User Profiling: We do not build profiles based on the websites you visit or the text you search for.
2. Information Collection and Use
Since the Extension does not transmit data, we simply do not collect your personal information. Specifically:
- Personal Data: We do not collect names, email addresses, or phone numbers.
- Browsing History: We do not read or store your browsing history. The extension only interacts with the webpage content to find the text you typed, and this data is discarded immediately after the tab is closed or refreshed.
3. Permissions Explained
To function correctly, the Extension requires specific permissions from Chrome. These are used strictly for functionality, not for surveillance:
- activeTab: Required to inject the search bar and highlighting logic only into the tab you are currently using. This ensures the code runs only when triggered by you.
4. Zero Third-Party Sharing
Because we do not collect any user data, it is technically impossible for us to sell, trade, or share your information with third parties, advertisers, or data brokers. Your privacy is protected by the architecture of the software itself.
5. Contact & Support
If you have any questions regarding this Privacy Policy or the security of the Extension, you may contact the developer via the GitHub repository.
